  The concept of waste, as it pertains to water, carries two distinct meanings for people in this area. There are those who believe water flowing from our reservoirs into the sea constitutes a lost or wasted resource. And then folks such as me believe sprinkling tapwater on non-native landscapes, among other frivolous uses, is the true waste of precious stream flow, better relegated to the sea.

• US Army Corps of Engineers Feasibility Study on the Nueces River

• The National Wildlife Federation has completed a rigorous study of whether Texas’ seven major bay systems will get the freshwater they need to stay healthy once our growing population is fully using all the water-use permits that have been issued as of today.
