  • Veteran's Band of Corpus Christi will open with the Presentation of Colors, the Color Guard, and the National Anthem.
  • Tree Planting Ceremony. The Tree Council and members of the Earth Day-Bay Day 2002 Committee will plant a tree.
  • Kayaking on the Nueces River - Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Outreach. Ongoing all day.
  • Rock Climbing Wall - Texas Parks and Wildlife assisted by REI Certified Belayers. Ongoing all day.
  • Backyard Composting Workshops - Coastal Bend Council of Governments and Master Gardners give workshop. Attendees receive backyard composting bins.
  • Bird Walks - Bird walks guided the Audubon Outdoor Club. Times TBA.
  • Plant Walks - Guided by members of the Native Plant Society. Times TBA.
  • Water quality monitoring/testing. Nueces River Authority. Learn how our water supply is monitored.
  • Live Music ongoing throughout the day featuring Gravel Walk, Latin Talk, Bobby Carter and the Swing Rayz.
  • The 3 R's - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Educational program of the City of Corpus Christi.
  • Catch a Surprise. City of Corpus Christi Storm Water Dept. Games, giveaways, and educational materials!
  • Natural Gas Exhibit - City of Corpus Christi. Educational exhibit, including a natural gas vehicle.
  • Rope Bridge exhibit - Boy Scouts of America. Walk the rope bridge, it's fun!
  • Meet the Artist. Visit Evelyn Atkinson, EDBD artist, and have your poster signed by the artist.
  • Walk Through the Wetlands - Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program and TAMU-CC Adopt-A-Wetland Program. Great fun.
  • Environmental Treasures. US Fish & Wildlife Service, USGS-NBS, MMS, and Girl Scouts. Stickers, tattoos, prizes. Learn a lot and have a great time.
  • Marine Mammal Stranding Network. See how a dolphin is rescued in this mock stranding and rescue.
  • Junior Angler Program, Tx Parks and Wildlife Dept fun and educational exhibit for young people. Learn a lot, win a prize.
  • Native Animals of Texas. The Texas Zoo Traveling Exhibit, Victoria, Tx. See native species and learn about their habitats.
  • Tree Workshop and Giveaway - Texas Forest Service tree give-away, educational material, and how to keep your new tree alive. See Smoky the Bear, too!
  • Tree cookies. Tree Awareness Council. Kid's love it.
  • Last Chance Forever - John Karger's exciting raptor show with hawks and falcons at 1, 3 and 5 PM. Birds of prey static display all day.
  • Story-telling. Old-fashioned story-tellers entertain visitors and encourage continuation of the story-telling art. Performances all day.
  • Project Redirectory. Bring your old phone book and get a goody bag!
  • Earth Day Message Rev David Owen.
  • Texas State Aquarium - Two Great Puppet Shows: Trashy Tales about sea creatures and litter, and SeaLeste, the story of a baby sea turtle!
  • Geological Society. Educational exhibit.
